Josep Fanals i Batllori received the bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Escola Politècnica Superior (EPS), Universitat de Girona (UdG), Girona, Spain, in 2020, as the best university graduating student of 2019-2020, and the master’s degree in Energy Engineering, electrical specialty, from the School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (ETSEIB), Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain, in 2022. In February of 2021 he joined Centre d’Innovació en Convertidors Estàtics i Accionaments (CITCEA) working as a research intern. In March of 2022 he joined eRoots as a development engineer. Since February 2023 he is the CEO of eRoots. He has contributed to open-source power system packages such as GridCal and ANDES. His interests include numerical tools for steady-state calculations of modern power systems.
